Matt’s coaching experience and interest is at elite level – and anyone that wants to be there. Initially grounded with professional surfers, having worked with former ASP World surfing Champions Mick Fanning and Stephanie Gilmore – and many other contenders, Matt has an understanding of what it takes to live at that level and how to train it.
Matt also has experience with other athletes and has worked with first grade NRL players (on the mind and performance via Kelee Meditation), downhill skiers, white water canoeing at Olympic level, triathletes and many other sports.

Working with Matt Griggs for over a decade has been career changing. It’s rare to meet someone that has that much experience that has a 360-degree vision with the sport of surfing. I have known Griggsy for over ten years but worked closely with him for 5 years when he was the Pit Boss for Ripcurl. Griggsy is very knowledgeable about health and fitness and was awesome to work with on technique, heat tactics and coaching of surfing. His wisdom and professional attitude was a giant help with my 2007 World title campaign.
Griggsy’s range of knowledge is incredible. He’s got the knowledge on how to get to a World Title, but it’s beyond that. Things like nutrition, mentality, the mind and meditating. I can have a million things going on in my head, so meditating has helped to control that and see the things I need to focus on.
